The Government of India recently announced that a total no. of 705 students dropped out from IITs and IIMs across the country in the year 2015-16. Answering to a question in Lok Sabha Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister of State, HRD said that in 2015-16. 656 students dropped out from IITs whereas 49 students dropped out from IIMs. The Minister said the number of dropouts in IITs & IIMs has come down unlike last year in 2014-15. A total of 1,126 from IITs and 55 from IIMs dropped out in the year 2014-15.
He also stated that most numbers of dropout students are from IIT, Delhi. There are various reasons why students left the college. Check the below list of students from IITs & IIMs who dropped out this year in 2015-16.
