In scrutiny, the examiner checks whether all answers have been evaluated and the marks have been added correctly. No re-reading of answers happens. This is faster and costs less. It is the right option if you feel a question was left unevaluated or marks were added incorrectly.
In re-checking, a new examiner reads and evaluates your entire answer book again. Your marks can go up or down based on the new evaluation. This is the right option if you believe your answers deserved better marks.

If your AKTU Result 2026 shows a fail or backlog in any subject, you can appear as a back paper student in the next examination cycle. This is also called ATKT (Allowed to Keep Terms) or carry over.
