Independence Day: DRDO developed an anti-drone system deployed for PM’s security

This Independence Day DRDO-developed anti-drone system deployed near Red Fort today on #IndependenceDay. Here is all you need to know about the DRDO anti drone system features and facts. The DRDO anti-drone system can detect and jam micro drones up to 3 kilometres and use a laser to bring down a target up to 1-2.5 kilometres depending on the wattage of laser weapon.

Today, on 15th August 2020 a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) developed anti-drone system deployed at Red Fort for PM Narendra Modi Security. This is a great piece of Engineering in India and makes us a Aatmanirbhar Bharat

DRDO Anti Drone System Features:-

  • Microdrones can be destroyed by damaging electronics of drones through laser-based Directed Energy Weapon.
  • It uses laser technology which consists of Radar, Tracker and jammer
  • This DRDO anti-drone technology can detect, destroy and jam micro-drones at a distance of up to 3 km and lase a target 1-1.25 km far depending on the wattage of the laser weapon used.
  • This DRDO anti-drone system was also deployed in Ahmedabad for the Modi-Trump roadshow recently.
