Rajasthan REET Paper Leak Case: ED Arrests Third Suspect

As part of the ongoing investigation into the purported leak of the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2021 question paper, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced on July 20, 2024, the making of its third arrest. On July 19, Raju Ram Iram was placed under arrest. Iram has been placed under the ED’s custody for three days by a special Jaipur court that hears matters about the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

REET Paper Leak ED Investigation

According to the ED’s investigation, Iram obtained the REET-2021 paper from other defendants and then shared it with his associates. In exchange for a large sum of money, these friends made it easier for candidates to view and read the leaked document. The Rajasthan Police FIR and chargesheets are the basis of the ED’s case, which has multiple searches resulting in the recovery of incriminating documents, digital records, and large sums of cash.

Before, the ED had arrested retired assistant professor Pradeep Parasher. They had also arrested his assistant, Ram Kripal Meena, in connection with the case. Meena has also been chargesheeted.

ED has carried out search operations at residential premises of different people at 27 locations in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Dungarpur, Barmer, Sikar & Jalore of Rajasthan on 5.6.2023 under the PMLA, 2002 in Senior Teacher Grade II Paper Leak Case & REET Paper Leak Case.

In response to the scandal, the Congress-led Rajasthan government dismissed D.P. Jaroli, the Chairman of the State Board of Secondary Education, and suspended the Board Secretary. The leak, which occurred two days before the REET exam, has been confirmed to have originated from the Education Department’s building in Jaipur. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has been calling for a CBI probe into the matter since the irregularities were uncovered.

With respect to Rajasthan REET paper leak few students suicide due this case. REET 2024 is not happening anytime soon as per some sources. We will update once we have any confirm news on this.
