Review: ASUS Zenfone Max – A Powerful Battery & Value for Money

We have seen many smartphones launched last year, but many smartphones failed when it comes to battery life. Nowadays the user is more concern about the battery issue as they are not getting all day battery but finally, there is one affordable Budget Smartphone launched last year by ASUS is Zenfone Max, which is your answer to your Battery-related problems. The ASUS Zenfone Max has a Powerful battery which even work as a Power Bank for your another smartphone. So, let’s Review this device and have a look what it has for us and why you need to buy ASUS Zenfone Max and whether it is worth or not.

ASUS Zenfone Max Design & Display Review:

The all new ASUS Zenfone Max comes with a 5.5 inch HD (1280×720 px) IPS display up to 178 Degree Viewing Angle. The Zenfone Max Design is very different from the Zenfone Laser 2; the back panel design is different as the side buttons are not on the back side but the side buttons of the smartphone. The Back Panel is removable to put the Dual SIM cards, but the 5000mah battery is non-removable. The Battery is the one which makes the phone bit heavy with 202gm.

ASUS Zenfone Max Performance Review:

After reviewing the Zenfone Max, we found that the performance of this phone is just awesome. In this budget with great battery life, this what we expected and from zenfone with 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 Quadcore Processor and Adreno 306 Graphics the Performance of Zenfone Max will give you smooth, seamless experience. We tried playing some big Action Games, Videos, etc. and it does well up to our expectation there was no app crash.

The Zenfone Max did not get heat up even after a heavy usage, and it works flawlessly in multitasking mode. It gives a great performance with 2 GB RAM & 16 GB Internal Memory. It also supports expandable memory card up to 64 GB microSD card.

ASUS Zenfone Max Camera Review:

Talking about the Camera, which is what every user is keen to know about, the rear camera is equipped with 13 megapixel and front camera with 5 megapixel. The Camera works well with the laser technology, and dual color LED Flash. The camera works well in low light if you can do some manual settings. We tried taking some photos in daylight and found good enough, and the laser works well as you can see the example images below.

The ultra-fast laser auto-focus feature greatly reduces blurring and enhances image stabilization, and the industry-leading Low Light mode employs pixel-merging technology to capture up to 400% brighter photos at night or in low-light scenes

ASUS Zenfone Max UI (User Interface) Review:

The User Interface of Zenfone Max has the same like any Zenfone Series smartphone from the ASUS, which we feel is the negative think about the phone. The ASUS Zenfone Max is equipped with Zen UI 2.0 & works on Android Lollipop 5.0. The preloaded apps in the Zen UI are very disturbing which eats lots of RAM in the background, and you cannot uninstall those preloaded apps from ASUS.

The user interface looks too old and not upgraded by the ASUS also now, Android N 7.0 is coming, and it works on old lollipop software, and it is not yet confirmed when the Marshmallow update is coming to the device.

ASUS Zenfone Max Battery Review:

This is one of the key features of this Smartphone. The zenfone Max has a Powerful long lasting Li-Polymer 5000mah battery which will run your smartphone more than a day. ASUS Zenfone Max comes with a heavy 5000mah non-removable battery. The user will not be able to remove the battery by themselves. When you use this smartphone as a regular use with using the camera, playing music, Internet surfing, and playing games the Zenfone Max can give you smooth 2-day battery life. However, it charges very slowly as it takes up to 5 hours to fully charged. Unlike the Zenfone Zoom, it does not come with a fast charger with fast charging boost technology.

The Battery backup of zenfone Max is just awesome, and that is what it makes the phone best from any other smartphone in the range of Rs 9999/- The ASUS Zenfone Max can even work as a Power Bank for your another smartphone and yes it works. You will also get an OTG cable inside the box to connect as a power bank.

ASUS Zenfone Max Verdict:

After completely reviewing the ASUS Zenfone Max Smartphone and using a month we found that it delivers what it promise. The battery backup is just amazing and if you are looking for a great battery, good performance and average camera with the budget of Rs 9999/- then just go for it. At this price tag, the Zenfone Max gives you all that you want in a Smartphone.

The only thing which we find a cons is that it charges very slowly. If you can buy a fast charger of 2A, It will charge it very quickly, but the ASUS charger which comes in the box will fully charge the device in 5 hrs. So, I you are looking for Value for money smart Phone with all features and a Powerful battery then Here is the ASUS Zemfone Max designed for you.
