BHU SET 2020 Introduces E-Lottery and Merit System for Admission in CHS School

BHU SET 2020 CHS School Admission Exam Notification for class 6th,9th and 11th officially released. The Banaras Hindu University has introduced an e-lottery system and merit system through School Entrance Test (SET-2020) for admission to Central Hindu School (CHS) Varanasi. This year the exam was scheduled in May 2020 but due to COVID-19 pandemic, the exams were later on postponed. The last date of submission of Online Application Form/update is 24^th September 2020 for the Academic Session 2020-21. This year School Entrance Test (SET) will not be conducted by BHU CHS School Board.

The Banaras Hindu University admits girls and boys in classes VI, IX and XI in Central Hindu Girls’ School and Central Hindu Boys’ School each year. The SET – 2020 exam will not be conducted by BHU this year and it will be done purely on the basis on E-Lottery system and Merit Basis due to coronavirus covid-19 pandemic situation in the country and keeping the safety of students in mind the board has decided to not conduct any exam. The BHU CHS School SET 2020 admission is now started from September 2020 and last date is 24 september 2020, students are advised to fill the fresh application form.

To Keep Children Safe during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the BHU School Board has decided NOT TO CONDUCT SET-2020. BHU CHS School Admission in Class 6th and Class 9th: Through E-Lottery:-

1. Admission of BHU employee ward applicants will be carried out first. 50% of seats are reserved for BHU employee ward.
2. Remaining seats will be allocated by e-lottery according to given priority sequence: –
   a) First Lot: 3% of the seats will be allocated to Differently Abled (Divyang (OH)) applicants (horizontally).
   b) Second Lot: I. E-Lottery for the ST candidates will be drawn.
   II. E-Lottery for the SC candidates will be drawn.
   
   Note: SC/ST seats will be filled only after interchanging the seat as per the availability of registered applicants i.e. vacant SC seats can be filled by ST applicants and vice-versa.
   
   III. E-Lottery for the OBC-NCL candidates will be drawn.
   
   c) Third Lot: After Second Lot, remaining seats will be allocated to unreserved applicants.
3. Waiting list of each Lot will be prepared separately.

BHU CHS School Admission in Class 11th: On The Basis Of Merit Of Class 10th

The admission in class 11th will be made on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in class 10th examination of the board and calculated as:-

Merit (Percent marks obtained) = (Total marks obtained / Total maximum marks of Subjects) X 100
In Boards where marks obtained are given in terms of percentage, such as is CISCE, New Delhi, the merit may be calculated as:-
Merit (Percent marks obtained) =∑ Percent marks of subjects / Number of subjects
If two or more candidates are clubbed at the same merit on the basis of Class 10th marks then the interest merit will be determined as given in below table.

If two or more candidates have the same merit even after calculation as given in TABLE 2, then the age of the candidates be taken into consideration and the candidate older in age be considered higher in merit.

BHU CHS School Admission 2020-21 Merit Basis Important Updates:-

• It has been decided to reserve 27% seats in all fresh admissions for Other Backward Classes-Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) besides 15% and 7.5% reservation for the SC and ST candidates respectively.
• In View Of Above Changes, The Admission Portal Will Be Opened For Fresh Applications For The Candidates Of All Categories.
• The opportunity will be given to the candidates who have already applied to update their application forms as given below.

1. The candidates who have applied in General category and belong to OBC-NCL category must update their category for all classes 6, 9 and 11.
2. The candidates who have applied for class 11th (all groups) must upload their class 10th mark-sheet and other related details.

• In case, already registered candidates want, they can withdraw their candidature. Their fee will be refunded to the same account through which it was paid. However, no fee refund claim will be entertained after the online portal is closed.
• Fee for the OBC candidates is the same as the General candidates – ₹400/-
• The candidates who have applied in General category and belong to OBC-NCL category must update their category for all classes 6th, 9th & 11th.
• The candidates who have applied for class 11th (all groups) must upload their class 10th mark-sheet and other related details for Maths, Biology and Arts group students.

OTHER BACKWARD CLASS – NON-CREAMY LAYER
27% reservation to candidates belong to the OBC-NCL category will be provided in different classes. The authorities to issue the OBC certificate are the same as in case of SC/ST). The caste in the OBC certificate will be those only which are in the list of Central Govt. Further, the OBC certificate should clearly mention that the candidate is not under creamy layer and the certificate should not be older than six months. However, if an OBC candidate seeks admission under some other category (for example PWD/PC (OH)/Employee Ward etc.) the candidate should satisfy the minimum eligibility requirement for that category.
