Official Circular – Regarding AKTU Grace Marks for Final year Students

AKTU has officially announced the grace marks rule for final year students. The 40 Marks grace will be applicable for B.Tech final year (4th-year students). AKTU Registrar KK Chaudhary released a official circular saying that all the final year student of the year graduated in 2015-16 or previous year graduated students can get the benefit of grace marks in any subject. if the final year students have carry over in end semester or any carry over in previous semester than those students can take the benefit of 40 marks grace from this year.

AKTU Grace Marks for Final year Students:-

He also stated that grace marks might be awarded only in those subject in which the candidate has secured at least 15% marks in the end semester theory exam. He further added that such candidate who is having carry over with the highest marks obtained by the candidate in any subject in various attempts shall be considered.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU / UPTU) took this decision in a recent 52nd academic council meeting to give grace marks facility to all the students of AKTU affiliated college to pass the exam. The grace marks will be given only to courses like B.Tech, B,Pharma, BCA,MBA,MCA, B.Arch, BHMCT, B.Fad etc except ( M.Tech, M.Pharma and M.Arch.)

So, finally, AKTU/UPTU has taken this step to help out all the final year students to get the advantage of grace marks and pass the subject if he/she has got at least 15 marks out of 100 that is 15% marks. If you have any query regarding AKTU Grace Marks, please comment below.

            I secured 45 marks in my 7th sem external in RAC. But my internal marks in that subject wee 14. So, my result shows one carryover. Will I get grace in this case?

      • Yatharth ji clear the picture for the students who have taken admission in year 2005 .. Their is 1-1 back paper in 1st year n 2nd year i.e year 2005-2006 ( 10 marks short ) & 2006-2007( 13 marks short ) respectively.
        Will they get Grace benefit ?
        Their online ( AKTU One View ) status( 30/10/2016) showing “Division : Not awarded ”
        in what condition it happens ?
        Will the status of DIVISION change ?
        Any hope for them ?

        • Hi !

          As per the new rule everyone is eligible for grace marks if he/she has at least 15% marks. Please check your result in one view if your division still shows not awarded and grace marks has been awarded then plz contact AKTU with your application and get your marksheet.

  8. Sir,
    I had 2 backs in first year in M1 and M2 obtaining 25 and 14 marks respectively.I have never had a back from thereon and have never availed any grace marks any year. Most probably I’ll obtain grace marks in M1 but what about M2 will they give 16 there or will they leave it by 1 mark?
    What should/can I do as I have an interview on 7th Sep?

    • Hi Aman,

      As per the AKTU grace marks rule you have to get at least 15 marks out of 100 marks not less than that, then only you can avail grace marks in that subject. Unfortunately, you will not get grace for M2 (Maths 2).

      The criteria to get grace marks is 15% and yes you are eligible to get the grace marks benefit, The results are still getting updated, and we don’t have any information on when it will be updated as of now. So

      • Hasthis 40 marks grace criteria been officially declared by UPTU. I got my cop result yesterday with 16 marks and infront of division it was written not awarded. I have my CDS and CAT exam. If the update is not done i will not be eligible for both the exam this time.

    I am a 2016 passout, and i have a pending backlog of 2nd year(3rd semester) in EC304 .. i scored 19 marks back then,..On giving my second attempt i ws made to write the wrong paper, because of the examination centre i got where invigilators gave me the wrong code paper..and i did not write my 3rd attempt in the 7th semester..am i elligible for this grace mark? I have never had any backlogs in btech..n m currently employed where my employers are asking for my final updated marksheet.i tried contacting the university registrar but to no avail..please let me know!

  45. Yatharth ji..their are 2 circulars one by registrar in august 2016 and another by Mr. JP Pandey .EC. in sep 2016
    jp pandey stated that grace marks rule will be applicable on those students who still have time to complete their course.
    But students who have taken admission in 2005 do not come under such criteria .

    Am i right ?

    if yes then..
    on what ground you are stating that grace mark rule will be applicable on every student of any session?

  46. Yatharth ji,their are two circulars one from Registrar on 19th august 2016 & one from JP Pandey EC on 24th sep 2016.
    JP Pandey clear stated that the grace marks will be given to those students whose maximum tenure to complete the course is not over .

    then on what ground you are saying that grace rule will be applicable on any student of any session ?

  47. What you are saying that the student of UPTU since 2000 ( the year University established ) who did not get their degree because of back in subjects will now come under new grace mark rule ?
    then what the circular means which was given by JP Pandey on 24th sep 2016 ?

  48. Their is no change in Online result till date ( AKTU One View ) of the students who took admission in 2005.
    No grace has been awarded in the subject where only 10 & 13 marks needed to pass .
    Therefore There Result is still same “Division : Not Awarded ”

    Sir,
    I completed my B.tech in CSE from Hindustan Institute of Technology and Management(code-003) last year in June.
    I had 4 backlogs remaining so i applied for Special carry over exams help in December 2016. Now I have only one back remaining in Mathematics 2 (AS 201). I have 16 marks in it and i require 14 more marks to pass and get the degree. How can I apply for the 40 marks grace rule so that I can clear all my subjects and get my degree.
    I need the degree urgently because I want to apply for the job in core companies.

    Me 2015 yr batch ka pass out hun. Meri 1st yr electrical me 11 marks aur maths2nd me 8 marks se internal back h aur external me mere electrical me 30 marks aur maths2nd me 36 marks h.

    • There is no such procedure for internal marks grace but some students last year reported that they got grace marks for the same. You need to verify it from college/university.

    • Hi Raghuvansh,

      I Think if you didn’t get any grace marks in 1st year then you should be eligible to get grace in mechanics as per the 40 marks grace rule 2017-18. Rest you should contact AKTU or your college as no one is sure what will happen next.

  156. Hello,I am 2015 passout.i had back in DAA in my 3rd year(23/100) and got 9 grace marks in my 3rd year.Now I am planning to apply for masters and in my transcript ,am I suppose to give 32/100 marks in DAA or 23/100,cause the grand total of 3rd year is calculate without taking the grace marks.
    Can you please explain the criteria of grace marks and if the grace marks are added in grand total or not.
    Kindly reply ASAP,cause it’s very urgent.

    • Shab grace marks is not added in total marks instead of giving marks benefit university award credit… If u wish to apply for carryover go ahead… And fill a carry form
