Aditya Birla Group fashion and apparel online e-commerce website abof.com to be shut down this year end. The Online fashion store of Aditya Birla group abof.com which was known as all about fashion is going to shut down this year end on 31st December 2017. The clothing stock will end in the month of November 2017. This is very shocking news for the online e-commerce industry as the competition is very high in this industry.
The Online shopping website abof.com will shut down its operations in december 2017, In the era of digital India somewhere down the line Aditya Birla group was missing something although most of the products on the website have a discount it is really tough for them to compete with Flipkart and Amazon, even Snapdeal is not able to compete with them.
The Aditya Birla Group HR Director told Economic Times that “Looking at how the big and long term ecommerce businesses continue to struggle and are unlikely to make money for some time, it did not seem logical to continue as if everything is all right in the sector”.
He also added ” All the 240 employees of Abof will be given four and-a-half month’s salary as compensation, in case they wish to quit the company.
Aditya Birla Group launched the online ecommerce portal in October 2015 and it’s been only 2 years and now it is not able to sustain. last year the group shut down their another e-commerce website trendin.com and now abof.com
