IIT Delhi posted Dog Handler Job with B.Tech as min. qualification, Clarifies later

IIT Delhi recently posted a job advertisement about dog handler job where minimum qualification required was B.Tech which went viral on social media and people started buzzing around this topic. This IIT Delhi Job ad for dog handler was shocking for everyone as the qualification required was graduates B.A., B.Sc, B.Com and B.tech candidates.

IIT Delhi posted this job advertisement on 26th August 2020 as walk in interview for application for the post of Dog handler on purely contract basis under Security office IIT Delhi. The appointment may be made intially for a period of 3 months.

This IIT Delhi Dog handler Job went viral on Twitter, Facebook which mentioned B.Tech as a minimum qualification and Salary up to Rs 45,000 per month. However, the institute IIT Delhi removed the job advertisement from their official website and clarified by releasing press statement that it was a mistake.

IIT Delhi Clarification on Dog Handler Job Ad.

IIT Delhi later took to twitter to clarify this and released a press statement and stated that “In reference to a job advertisement dated 26-08-2020 for a post titled “Dog Handler” (on purely contract basis), IIT Delhi would like to clarify that the minimum qualification as mentioned in the advertisement got inadvertently copied from another job advertisement. The qualification intended in the advertisement was ‘Bachelor of Veterinary Science’.
The institute has cancelled the current recruitment process after this mistake was brought to the notice of higher authorities.
A fresh process in due course will be initiated to hire a Consultant (on purely contract basis) with suitable minimum qualification required for the job profile that involves proper care of a large number of stray dogs on the campus (providing them medical aid like vaccination, medicine, IV drip etc. and food), handling of issues and challenges relating to stray dogs, liaison with campus community- students, employees, construction workers etc., local government bodies and NGOs.”

Many people online criticized IIT Delhi and questioned about this job advt and also asks about the salary structure for this job along with qualification., later they clarified that it was mistake and mix up of two job advertisement which is now removed.
