Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana: Maharashtra’s Flagship Scheme Online and Offline Registration Process |Eligibility Criteria

The Maharashtra government is all set to roll out its flagship Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana on August 17, 2024. This scheme, introduced in the supplementary budget, is modeled after Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’, originally launched by former MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The initiative is projected to cost the state Rs 46,000 crore annually and aims to support around 1.35 crore women across Maharashtra.

Highlights of Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana:-

  1. Launch Before Raksha Bandhan: In a move coinciding with Raksha Bandhan, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the government will begin providing Rs 1,500 in direct financial assistance to over a crore women in the state under this scheme.
  2. Inspired by Madhya Pradesh’s Ladli Behna Yojana: The Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana takes inspiration from the ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ of Madhya Pradesh. Deputy CM and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar incorporated the Maharashtra version into the supplementary budget, making it a significant welfare initiative.
  3. Annual Cost and Target Group: The scheme is expected to cost Rs 46,000 crore annually. Women aged 21 to 65 from economically weaker backgrounds, with an annual household income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh, will benefit from this monthly financial aid.
  4. Eligibility and Beneficiaries:
    • Permanent residents of Maharashtra.
    • Women aged between 21 to 65 years.
    • Married, unmarried, abandoned, divorced, and destitute women are eligible.
    • Applicants must have a bank account in their name, and their family income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh annually.

Application Process – How to Apply:-

  • Offline: Women can apply offline at Sarkar Seva Kendras, with assistance available from Anganwadi Sevaks, Gram Sevaks, and other local officials.
  • Online: The government has also launched the ‘Nari Shakti Doot App’ for easy online registration. The app is available for download on both Android and iOS devices.

    Application Guidelines:-

    To register for the scheme, applicants must ensure that the information provided (name, date of birth, address) matches the details on their Aadhaar card. Additionally, linking their Aadhaar card to their bank account will streamline the verification process and facilitate timely payments.

    Recent News Update:

    A trial run conducted on August 14 saw eligible women receive Rs 3,000 as an advance for two months. This trial marks the beginning of disbursements under the Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana, with the full implementation set for August 17, benefiting over 1 crore women.

    • Permanent Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Maharashtra.
    • Age: Women aged between 21 and 65 years are eligible.
    • Financial Criteria: The scheme is aimed at women from families with an annual income below Rs 2.5 lakh.

    How to Apply:-

    Eligible women can apply for the scheme through the Nari Shakti Doot mobile app, which supports both Android and iOS devices. There is no fee for applying. Assistance will be provided by local authorities such as Anganwadi workers and Gram Sevaks.

    केंद्र सरकारच्या विविध योजनेतील रकमेप्रमाणेच लाडकी बहीण योजनेतील रक्कम देखील डायरेक्ट बेनिफिट ट्रान्सफर (DBT) पद्धतीनं थेट लाभार्थ्यांच्या खात्यात जमा होणार आहे.

    मुख्यमंत्री लाडकी बहीण योजनेच्या अंतर्गत पैसे जमा होण्यास आता सुरुवात झाली आहे. स्वातंत्र्य दिनाच्या पूर्वसंध्येला म्हणजेच 14 ऑगस्ट रोजी राज्यातील महिलांच्या अकाऊंटवर 3 हजार रुपये जमा झाले. 31 जुलैपूर्वी या योजनेसाठी अर्ज भरणाऱ्या महिलांच्या खात्यात ही रक्कम जमा झाली.

    लाडकी बहीण योजनेच्या अंतर्गत आर्थिक दुर्बल घटकांतील महिलांच्या बँक खात्यात प्रतिमाह 1500 रुपये जमा होणार आहेत. 21 ते 65 वयोगटातील महिलांना याचा लाभ होणार आहे. जून आणि जुलै दोन महिन्यांचा हप्ता बँकेत जमा होण्यास सुरुवात झाली आहे. 17 ऑगस्टपर्यंत सर्व लाभार्थी महिलांच्या खात्यात ही रक्कम जमा होणार असल्याचं राज्य सरकारनं जाहीर केलंय.
