Now Official: UPTU Officially changed the University Name UPTU to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University

This is to inform all the Student, staff and all the concerned people that Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) officially changed its name to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The University Released a Circular notice regarding the same and finally changed the name of University from UPTU to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow and made a Final Step to this. In a recent UP Government notification no. 1156/79-v-1-15-1 (ka) -24-2015, Dated 09-09-2015 with this reference Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) Act -2000, Uttar Pradesh Act No. 23, Year – 2000 The  Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) is amended to change as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

The Decision was took by CM of Uttar Pardesh Shri Akhilesh Yadav to rename the University as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow in the memory of Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Sir Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam died on July 27, 2015, in Shillong. The Full name of the university may go as Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Well, the final changes has been made and university has said in their official notice to amend Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow in place of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) from now on regarding any Notice or Office work.

Before this University/Engineering college in Kerala also renamed their university as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. By the way, The University also made changes to their website. Yes, The Logo & name of University is now changed to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow at official website of UPTU. while the domain is same as www.uptu.ac.in lets see the university will change the domain name also or not. Well, This is not the first time the university name is changed earlier also in Mayawati’s BSP Government the university was divided in two parts as Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU), Lucknow Region & Mahamaya Technical University (MTU) for Noida Region. Again when SP Government came in power the university name changed to Uttar Pradesh Technical university (UPTU) which was divided earlier and now it changes to Dr. A.P.J.
