Shri Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi an IAS officer appointed as the new chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). In a recent press release CBSE announced the new CBSE chairman for the next five year term. Before this the names suggested by Smriti Irani was rejected by the ACC.
Shri Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, IAS took over as the new chairman of CBSE today. Sharing the vision and role of CBSE in school education, Shri Chaturvedi emphasised on the need for improving quality of education in schools across the country with ample thrust upon teacher quality to sustain improvement in the standard of education. One of the foremost priorities will also be to make CBSE as a modern and multidimensional front ranking organisation among other issues.
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday appointed 1987 batch Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, IAS officer for five year term. As soon as Prakash Javdekar took the HRD ministry the decision take on Rajesh Kumar, IAS by the committee. The post of the Chairperson of CBSE was vacant from past two year since 2014.
